MajorityMag Summer Reading Series
June 2, 2008 – 7:15 am
“The great aim of education is not knowledge but action.” -Herbert Spencer
This Friday (June 6th) we are starting the MajorityMag Summer Reading Series. The challenge: 3 books in 3 months. We will read and discuss them together here on this site, and see what great action they inspire.
Our first selection is Strength To Love by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This book is a collection of some of King’s greatest words on what he felt was the most essential factor to his philosophy of nonviolence: LOVE. In the forward, Mrs. Coretta Scott King writes that Strength To Love is “…the one book people consistently tell me has changed there life…” I hope you will join me in this challenge and that our lives can be positively impacted as well.
The other upcoming books in the series are:
July: The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell
August: The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch
Feel free to join us for any or all of these readings and discussions, and send me an email at joe@majoritymag.com to let me know you are on board. The more readers the better so spread the word to your friends too!
Until Friday,
-JH
