Fridays With Joe - Week 12

Happy Fourth of July!!! I hope everyone is having a great time with friends and family today. Do you realize that it really is a gift to be able to do that? This week we told you about several hostage who were freed from captivity in the jungles of Colombia. For some of them it had been six years since they had seen or even communicated with their family…six years! I probably haven’t gone more than six days without talking to my loved ones.
Among the many freedoms we enjoy in America, the ability to spend time with the ones we love my be one of the most simple, but I would also argue that it is one of the most valuable. There is no substitute for the time spent with those who are important to us. Though at times disagreements and hurt feelings may cause us to choose separation, we always have the choice to reunite. So today, as you eat, laugh, watch fireworks and whatever else you do, make the most of the time with those you are with; and if there is someone you’ve been missing you might as well let them know…that would be a great way to celebrate your freedom.
